Hi! A lot of new people have joined in anticipation of next week's State of the Homeschooling World survey results. Before that arrives, here's the short version of how we got here: I've run my own business as a copywriter/content strategist for 13 years with lots of ebbs and flows — and it hasn't always treated me kindly. In November 2024, we started homeschooling as a family. In March 2025, I realized that I'm not the only one wanting a wild & free life. So, just as our family shifted, I shifted how I show up online. This newsletter (which I'm currently trying to name) is now delivered to thousands of families across the U.S. (and maybe world?). You can expect personal stories about life's adventures and the art of freedom. I'm a 40+ year old woman who loves to workout (and then sneak chocolate), camp (in an RV, away from the cold and bugs), write freely, and try new hobbies. And, I'm committed to not wasting time on things that just don't matter. WELCOME!

The cacti are coming to life this week here in Arizona. Seeing these blossoms has always made me happy, but this year it feels different. This year, it feels like they're mirrors reflecting a new season of growth, transformation, and blooming. It's all so cliche, but the older I get, the more I understand where these cliches come from.

I casually took a picture of these cactus flowers this in my front yard a few days ago:

It's my reminder that, like nature, you can always reinvent yourself, make shifts, pursue something new, and expand (or retract) your approach.

We entered our homeschooling journey mid-year, and I've been thinking a lot about the upgrades we're going to make next year. Already, my oldest is asking daily when he can start a new class I've promised he'll be able to join. But before that happens, it's Maycember! The closing of a lot of chapters in preparation for the new ones.

That's why I've decided to pull together a survey of the state of Homeschooling Parents.

It seems like the right time to check in on how you're feeling, how you've approached this past year, and what you're excited for in the future.

I have also been working behind the scenes on something really cool to bring to homeschooling moms. Honestly (and selfishly), it is something I've wanted, looked for, and haven't found so I'm building it myself. If you're craving to a space to ask questions and connect more intimately behind closed doors with other homeschooling moms than you can in free Facebook groups, put your name on the waitlist here. It's going to be SO FUN!

In the meantime, here are some things that are bringing me a lot of smiles this week:

I hope you have a beautiful week! And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY on Sunday!

P.S. Today's the last day to fill out and share this survey! More data means better insights for us, and there are already over 100 voices here! I'll share what I'm seeing next week.
