Welcome to Feature Friday, where I introduce you to a Roadpreneur building a business that lets them RV more often (maybe even full-time). Through these stories, you’ll see sparks of inspiration that can be woven into your own journey and go behind the scenes of other people’s businesses that are successfully growing from the road.
One of the biggest questions I’m asked is, how do I build a business while I RV? This week’s guests on Featured Friday, Shion and Matthew with Broken Dreams Reborn share insight into how they’ve taken their lifestyle and used it to curate content and create a community around the RV life. I loved reading their honest answers and experiences from behind the cameras that capture their lifestyle, and I know you will too.
Introducing: Shion and Matthew.

What is your name and what do you do?
We are Shion and Matthew with Broken Dreams Reborn. We live, work, and travel full-time in our 36-foot fifth-wheel RV. We are content creators documenting the truth of our lives, including the good, the bad, and everything in between. We produce full-length videos, short videos, pictures, blogs, and more across several platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and our own website, brokendreamsreborn.com.
How do you seek adventure on the open road?
We first seek adventure through the new places we move our RV to. We usually move every two weeks with some occasional one-month stays in places. We try to mostly boondock, which we believe makes it easier to find ourselves in one amazing place after the next. Then, we seek challenging and adventurous hikes and mainly outdoor activities near our RV spot.
What inspired you to start this business?
Honestly, we felt that sharing our lives with others would be the best way to build community and meet others. Of course, it is a business, and our goal is to have a great financial return. However, the biggest payoff for us is meeting so many amazing people and making friends who have become family we never would have met otherwise.
What do you like most about your business?
We love that our business has almost unlimited potential and is constantly being molded and shaped as we grow and new opportunities arise. We like how much God has used this business of sharing our lives with others to make us more willing to be adventurous and outgoing.
What’s going through your audience’s mind when they come to you for help?
Our audience (community) sees our experience and hopes we can help them. We are really blessed that people trust us enough to ask for and receive our help when they need it. That’s exactly the kind of community we want: people helping people.
How have you designed your business to run while you roam?
Since we travel full-time, we’re always roaming. Running a content creation business takes a lot of work, and we work 5-6 days a week. We try to record videos and take pictures no matter what we’re doing.
What challenges have you faced by running a business from the road?
For the first couple of years, our biggest challenge was the lack of good internet. Now that we have Starlink, we have no internet problems.
The other challenge we face is that even though we absolutely love moving every couple of weeks and we love travel days, it takes away from our work time. However, the positives of moving spots and being nomadic far outweigh any challenges.
If you had to start over again, what would you do differently?
We started recording videos even sooner to get used to being on camera and learn how to speak on camera sooner!
What’s the biggest compliment you’ve ever received?
When people tell us we inspire them, that means so much to us since we try to inspire others in a God-honoring way.
What are you getting excited about right now?
We’re starting to reach out to brands for paid sponsorships. We’re both nervous and excited at the same time. Also, we’re very excited about developing our BDR Insiders on Patreon.
Where can we connect with you?
