Welcome to the new column, Feature Friday, where every week, I’ll introduce you to a Roadpreneur who is building a business that lets them RV more often (maybe even full-time). Through these stories, you’ll see sparks of inspiration that can be woven into your own journey and go behind the scenes of other people’s businesses that are successfully growing from the road.
There’s something so fun about seeing people toy with the idea of living the RV lifestyle and then fall madly in love with it—so much so that they build a business to let themselves continue traveling. That’s the case with Adam Vosding, this week’s featured guest.
I love Adam’s story about finding adventure on the open road, pursuing new opportunities to get more experiences while RVing, and forging a path around his passions rather than submitting to a corporate gig.
Welcome, Adam!

What is your name and what do you do?
My name is Adam Vosding. In 2018, I took a break from my corporate career to travel around the Southwest. I budgeted 6-8 months' worth of travel, and when time expired, I wasn’t ready to go back to a traditional corporate job. I have been working seasonal jobs ever since. I am slowly working on building my brand behind the scenes to help make my travel more sustainable. I have loved CoolWorks.com as a resource for finding seasonal work as I travel.
How do you seek adventure on the open road?
I love food and sports, so those are two things that have a big impact on where I go. I’m also a fan of the “perfect weather” areas where it’s not too hot or cold. Aside from these factors that direct my itinerary, I’m always excited to meet friends and family on the road and check out mysterious or unknown places.
What inspired you to start this business?
My friend from Tampa reached out on her social media about having someone provide feedback on an online travel course she intended to create. I met with her and came up with my quirky yet somewhat SEO-friendly “brand” name, and she opened my eyes to people living a nomadic lifestyle and having the opportunity to travel full-time.
What do you like most about your business?
I have the freedom to see so many places I wouldn’t have otherwise and to meet so many amazing people along the way. I’m writing these answers right now while on a day off working for a couple of months at a dude ranch in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. Every time I walk outside and see the beautiful landscape, I laugh to myself and think, “Wow, what a pretty cool life you’ve created for yourself.”
What’s going through your audience’s mind when they come to you for help?
Many of the inquiries or feedback I get are from people who I feel are a little envious of my life and are traveling vicariously with me along my journey. They like to pick my brain about how I decide where to go and what interesting things I come across along the way.
How have you designed your business to run while you roam?
I’m nowhere near where I want to be with my business. Part of that is that I haven’t honed in on a specific theme. I’m kind of across the board with content about my dog, sports, van life, cooking, seasonal jobs, and a number of other things. I’m toying with opportunities to create passive income along the way and hope I’m on the right path to make that happen.
What challenges have you faced by running a business from the road?
Creating content and doing everything I want takes a lot of time. It takes so much longer to edit and produce videos than I had imagined, and finding areas with all the power and internet I need to get things done can be challenging.
If you had to start over again, what would you do differently?
I started off with a 16-foot Airstream travel trailer, which was kind of cool. However, I have since transitioned into a self-converted class B travel van, which suits my travel lifestyle so much better. I wish I had started off in the van.
What’s the biggest compliment you’ve ever received?
I have been fortunate to be interviewed on TV in several different cities around the USA and Canada. I’m not the best public speaker in the world, but it’s always humbling and fun to get recognition from local media. Last year, my dog (@HollandThePup) and I were invited to the NHL Network studio in New Jersey for a live interview after I completed my journey to take my dog to every NHL arena! Seeing her get this love was awesome.
What are you getting excited about right now?
I was born in Canada and still have family that live there. Although I have lived most of my life in Florida, I still think it’s cool to be able to call myself “Canadian,” and I want to plan a cross-Canada road trip to showcase “what it’s like to be Canadian.”
I also want to take my dog to every MLB stadium and grow her Holland the Pup brand.
